Hi, I'm Clare

I love applying concepts from Neuroscience/Psychology to understand people and their behaviors, decisions, and actions. I like to think of myself as Sherlock, but not solving mysteries, solving people.

 

One of my life goals is to deeply understand and empathize with people and figure out ways to make their lives more joyful and meaningful.

In my free time, you can find me trying out new local restaurants, cafes, bakeries, and boba shops. Or grocery shopping at Trader Joe's as I'm (slightly) obsessed.. I also enjoy filming and editing videos of people and capturing seemingly mundane but beautiful moments in their lives.​​

My Work Experience Before UXR

Company Overview

Republic is an equity crowdfunding platform where startups and other private companies can raise capital from the public

Problem

Republic had lots of industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and investors in its network that were not being leveraged to its full potential for deal referrals and portfolio support

Solution

Designed, launched, and managed the Venture Partner Program, a community of VCs, founders, and accelerators who support Republic’s mission to support the startup ecosystem and equalize the fundraising landscape

Impact

Through this program, we received more than 40 deal referrals, most of which were high-quality deals, from our VPs for our equity crowdfunding portal (just in the month of April!)

Influencer Marketing & Partnerships Freelancer

(Oct 2019 - June 2020)

Company Overview

Doofood is a meal-kit service company that specializes in authentic Korean dishes

Problem

The number of Doofood customers was increasing very slowly, relying primarily on word of mouth, and did not have much brand presence online

Solution

Increased brand presence online by partnering with YouTube influencers who have a subscriber base that aligns with Doofood’s target customers

Impact

Due to these partnerships, which increased its reach on social media to 800K+ people in a few month, the number of new users and weekly orders increased significantly & most Doofood menus were sold out for weeks following these videos

Company Overview

Ichthys Genomics is a bioinformatics startup that provides a cloud-based genome analysis software platform, backed by Tech Incubator Program for Startup (TIPS) and the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI)

Problem

One of its most challenging problems was the market size: the domestic market for genetic analysis services was too small and growing very slowly

Solution

Expanded our marketing efforts in the U.S. and Europe and grew our network in countries with a larger genetic analysis service market

Impact

Enabled the company’s participation and networking at multiple global events including BIO 2018, BIO Korea 2019, K-Startup Summit Moscow, Daejeon Export Fair, and Global Accelerators Conference
